The world's largest PMMA project of Zhejiang Petrochemical is about to be put into operation

On July 11th, the construction of the 1 # 180000 tons/year PMMA plant in the high-performance resin project of Zhejiang Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Zhejiang Petrochemical") entered the peak installation stage and is scheduled to be officially put into operation by the end of 2025.

As the high-end optical grade PMMA project with the world's largest single line scale (60000 tons/year), the largest plant capacity (180000 tons/year), and the first continuous bulk polymerization process in China, the plant adopts the optical grade PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) process technology patent package jointly developed by Zhejiang University Quzhou Research Institute and Zhejiang Zhiying Petrochemical Technology Co., Ltd. The engineering design is undertaken by Shanghai Zhiying Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., and the core reactor is jointly provided by the technology licensor and Zhejiang Ruicheng Equipment Technology Co., Ltd.

The high-performance resin project of Zhejiang Petrochemical is scheduled to be put into operation at the end of this year, which means that another "bottleneck" technology in China's high-end new materials field is about to usher in a major breakthrough.

The total investment of the high-performance resin project is about 18.253 billion yuan. This project includes 2 # 1.2 million tons/year ABS plant, 2 # 0.3 million tons/year EVA/LDPE (tubular) plant, 2 # 0.4 million tons/year LDPE (tubular) plant, 1 # 0.1 million tons/year EVA (kettle) plant, 2 # 0.2 million tons/year DMC plant, 1 # 1.8 million tons/year PMMA plant, as well as supporting storage and transportation facilities and public auxiliary facilities.
